As university students in the UK enjoy their Spring vacation, many landlords with student accommodation will now be on the look out for their next good tenant.

The question is: Is you property attractive to the lucrative student market?

A recent survey of 500 students has revealed the most important facilities found in student accommodation are:

  1. Safety and security: 89%
  2. Good internet connection: 88%
  3. A washing machine: 76%
  4. Being close to campus: 72%
  5. High quality accommodation: 59%
  6. Being close to general amenities: 47%

The Mistoria Group research also found that:

  • An overwhelming majority want to live in shared accommodation with friends,
  • Only 5% want halls of residence,
  • Just 3% want to live in a self-contained room or flat.

So as we near the last term of the academic year, now is the time to get your student property ready for your next batch of students. As well as the potential for high yields, student accommodation is also highly attractive to investors what with more people going to university during economic downturns.

This must be why more and more landlords are taking advantage of the competitive lettings packages available at trlettings.co.uk. A highly professional and efficient residential lettings service to landlords and tenants, TR Lettings will assist you in the process of finding the most suitable tenant(s) for your property. Where, more often than not, within a matter of days their fully focused team will find you a reputable tenant and begin the lettings process, depending on which package you choose.

Had good students for a couple of years, very little complaints and you can charge a bit more in rent.

find older 40yrs +tenants best (mainly divorced or single) as there is no council housing for them.

I wish i could by those student pod type properties for the older ones but they are all only sold for students.
