North Somerset Selective Licensing Designation Survey
A selective licensing designation may be made if the area to which it relates satisfies one or more of the following conditions. The area is one experiencing:
· low housing demand (or is likely to become such an area)
· a significant and persistent problem caused by anti-social behaviour
· poor property conditions
· high levels of migration
· high levels of deprivation
· high levels of crime
Therefore we have created a quick survey below to find out if you are experiencing any of these. So please take part and aid us further with our case.
Here are Paul Routledge’s answers:
· low housing demand (or is likely to become such an area)…
NO.
This is simply not the case as we can fill our properties every day, 3 times over.
· a significant and persistent problem caused by anti-social behaviour…
NO.
We do not have a persistent or problem caused by anti-social behaviour.
· poor property conditions…
NO.
Not applicable – all my properties are in first class condition as discussed at the meeting; 44 out of 44 said they were happy in their accommodation.
· high levels of migration…
NO.
We do not experience high levels of migration or do we see migrants invading the area indeed; today on the BBC News North Somerset was being berated for not taking any Syrian migrants.
· high levels of deprivation…
NO.
We do not see any deprivation in this area. There is the usual people on benefits but there are no overly apparent boarded up shops and houses.
· high levels of crime…
NO.
We are not experiencing any high levels of crime, in fact statistics are showing that these have dropped.
