I have just heard that Moody has stripped Britain of its’ triple A credit rating.. The first downgrade since 1978.

Mr Cameron we have been warning you on this site for three years (see related articles below) that there is a major difference in cutting back the bush (austerity) and to stop watering it altogether.

This government’s austerity needed to be done "agreed", but we also needed to focus on investment into the wider community to kick start the economy. We did not need swathes of cash poured into banks (that they never passed on) and we did not need billions going to public sector buildings and we certainly did not need a £35 billion railway link while the rest of the country starved.

We needed the good old British entrepreneurs in the street to be able to borrow money at a sensible and viable rate to invest into projects that would benefit communities at grass roots level..

I appreciate that this government has pledged money to smaller business and that they have tried to get the banks to lend at lower rates, but the truth is it is not getting through and now this down grading of the National Credit Rating will invariably reflect on this country’s ability to borrow money at preferential rates.

Your failure to deal with investment into the wider community may now start to cost us all as we see interest rates start to rise on the back of this down grade.

Mr Cameron and Mr Osborne a message to you “You reap what you sow”

PaulR, just where is all the money going? Far from cutting, Government expenditure is rising. Cameron promised a "Bonfire of the Quangos" and he has abolished some, but he has created more!

We have to cut costs according to our income and stop giving money away left, right and centre.
